Clinical Trial Fellowship
The Essential Access Health Research Center is nationally recognized as a leading research center focusing on sexual and reproductive health. For over 35 years, the Research Center has conducted cutting edge contraceptive clinical trials with a wide range of partners in the public and private sector, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, start-ups, and major pharmaceutical corporations. The Center embraces the latest technologies supporting e-consenting, remote study visits and electronic data capture. Innovation in study recruitment is another area in which the Center excels.
Our experienced research team is offering a Fellowship for an experienced clinician or laboratory researcher who wishes to launch a career in clinical research.
- If a clinician, the Fellow should have a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience that includes case management and staff supervision responsibilities. Public health or clinical research exposure is desirable but not required.
- If a laboratory researcher, the Fellow should have a minimum of 5 years of experience working on pharmaceutical or basic biological research. An advanced degree(s) in the life sciences or statistics can substitute in part for experience.
This opportunity is designed to prepare the Fellow for a permanent, fulltime position with a clinical research institution or organization. The Fellowship will provide experience in the following: protocol development and implementation, FDA regulatory compliance, informed consent process, clinical trial procedures, study recruitment, participant management systems, EDCs and data query systems, IRB requirements/submissions, sponsor communications, and CRO monitoring practices.
This fellowship will be based in our Los Angeles office and driving to clinic locations in the Los Angeles area is required.
The Fellowship will be 40 hours per week for a 6-month period, at a rate of $25 an hour. A fellow in the program will not be considered a full-time employee of Essential Access Health and as such, medical benefits are not available for the fellowship.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
A current California Driver’s License, current registration and current automobile insurance coverage is required if you drive on company business.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds. The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
