Best Practices in Providing Emergency Contraception
This course is an overview of current best practices in providing emergency contraception (EC). It covers the latest science on how certain IUDs and oral EC pill varieties work to prevent pregnancy. The course will also address practical considerations like scheduling same-day EC appointments for people in need of EC and how to talk to patients about side effects, how body size/body mass index (BMI) impacts EC efficacy, and the advance provision of oral EC pills. The course includes case studies, responding to common patient questions, and strategies for removing access barriers to EC.
